President’s Message
First of all, I’d like to send a big THANK YOU to all of our members. I am honored to be a member and now an elected leader of such a quality organization.
Check our Calendar page for times and locations of meetings, events and more information throughout the year.
Mark your calendars now for our regular monthly luncheon meetings every third Thursday of January, March, April, May, October and November. These meetings are held at 11.30 a.m. at Christian Brothers University.
The Order of the Engineer serves as our February meeting. The Charity Golf Tournament Fundraiser takes place in the Fall. In October, we join ASCE colleagues from around the state to recognize outstanding members and projects and for an excellent opportunity to satisfy professional development requirements at the Tennessee Section Seminar. Branch Board Meetings are generally held on the Friday before the third Thursday at 11:30 a.m. and are for board members only.
Our charitable contribution this year will be going to the Children’s Museum of Memphis. The funding will come from our golf tournament.
An active and friendly Younger Members Group is a valuable part of the Branch. Chaired by Heather Kraus, this group organizes numerous social and community service activities for the under 35 crowd. Visit the Younger Member’s page for additional information.
A host of highly motivated professionals from private firms and government agencies lead and are involved in our West Tennessee Branch and are devoted to providing a variety of professional, technical and social opportunities to our members and our community. That said, be involved as much as you can, whether attending regular luncheon meetings, speaking with local students, or participating in or assisting with our activities. We are committed to improvement of engineers, our practice and our community. Be an active part of this team. It was one of my smarter decisions to stay involved in ASCE after college. The networking has helped me tremendously!
This year, special projects include donating to the Children’s Museum of Memphis for engineering related exhibits.
